First iPhone Duo reviews: the best foldable yet, but with clear trade-offs
Certain iPhone
Reviewers praise the barely visible crease, the build quality and the software advantages over Android foldables. They criticise the weight, the lack of Face ID and a telephoto lens, the small outer screen and apps that are not yet adapted. Bright calls it a technical showpiece full of compromises, and says the phone costs just over 2,300 euros in the Netherlands.
Update: 28 October event reportedly press releases and hands-on sessions, around 17:00 Dutch time
High Mac iPad Events
Bright expects a series of press releases rather than a video presentation, possibly from 17:00 Dutch time, with hands-on sessions in Los Angeles from 18:00. An OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro, an OLED iPad mini and M6 updates for the 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac are expected; the timings come from influencer posts and are not confirmed by Apple.
MacBook Pro redesign next week: 'significantly' lighter per Gurman, OLED and touch expected
Medium Mac Events
According to 9to5Mac, Apple will unveil the first redesigned MacBook Pro in five years next week. Note that 9to5Mac still mentions M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, whereas an M6 is expected elsewhere.
Update: iPhone Duo in stores Friday, but limited; two per customer and little stock in the Netherlands
Certain iPhone
Apple has limited in-store stock on Friday for buyers without an order, including in the Netherlands, though it will probably sell out fast. Certain iPhone Software
Apple will flag optimised apps in the App Store with 'Made for iPhone Duo'; that requires at least the iOS 27.1 SDK, while older apps run centred with wide margins. Apple names more than 50 apps that are or will be adapted. Meanwhile the first pre-orders for the 23 October launch day already show a 'shipped' status.

Fortnite is meanwhile returning to the Australian App Store; Apple plans to ask for a stay and to appeal.

According to Mark Gurman, Apple is internally testing a second-generation Duo with Face ID behind the outer screen, a direct answer to the criticism of Touch ID. It is not certain it will make the next generation; if development slips it could move to the Duo 3.
