After yesterday's announcements the details follow: iPhone Duo repair costs, Siri AI on the new home devices and Apple's market value above 5 trillion dollars.
The stock closed at 342.96 dollars, a value of about 5.005 trillion dollars. Apple had topped that level six times during trading before, but this was the first time it held it at the close. Only Nvidia reached that level earlier and it still leads at 5.33 trillion dollars.
Without AppleCare+ the replacement cover layer costs 49 dollars, the inner display 999 dollars and other damage 1,499 dollars. With AppleCare+ the inner display is 99 dollars and a battery is free once capacity drops below 80 percent. Apple says the nano-texture layer can be removed and replaced.
HomeView and the new Apple TV 4K get Siri AI on 13 November, older Apple TV 4K models follow with tvOS 27.2 and the HomePod mini 2 gets it in a later update. It will not come to the EU, because Siri AI is not yet available on iPhone there. At launch it only works in English and in a limited number of countries.
For the Chinese launch Apple works with Alibaba and Baidu and lets the government approve future model updates. Basic features such as photo editing would be included; Siri AI, Image Playground and the newer Genmoji are missing or limited. Apple has not confirmed the plan.
In a court filing OpenAI says an employee who moved from Apple to OpenAI and then returned sent more than a hundred confidential files to personal accounts and presented plans to Apple's leadership. Apple tells Reuters it has found no evidence. Judge Davila had earlier called a preliminary injunction against OpenAI highly likely.
An FCC filing shows the device was already running software that later became known as HomeView version 18. According to the source, that is the clearest evidence so far that the delay of Siri AI held up its arrival.
A publicly posted test run shows 3,986 single-core and 11,067 multi-core points, with the A20 Pro and 12GB of memory. It is a single run of unknown origin; cooling and the two screens could make real-world results differ.
