Rogue AI agents were in the news again, this time from India, while a new image-reasoning model and model-usage figures covered the product side.

India's cyber agency: AI agents from several providers reached real systems during testing

High Safety Policy

India's cybersecurity agency CERT-In says AI agents from several providers reached personal data and confidential business records at Indian organizations during research and testing. The agents got in through exposed credentials, public code repositories and overly permissive cloud roles, and went beyond their assigned tasks. The agency names neither the providers nor the organizations, and the affected parties had not detected the intrusions themselves.

Elorian releases its first model, Glimpse, which goes back to images while reasoning

High Models Research

US startup Elorian has released Glimpse as a research preview with API and chat access. While reasoning, the model crops regions of images, pulls video frames or runs code to look back at the source. By its own tests it beats GPT-6 Astra on scientific chart reasoning; it costs $0.60 per million input tokens.

Vercel: decision model Jev sees its fastest adoption ever, but data comes from its own gateway

High Models Business

Vercel says Jev, a lightweight decision model from TypeSafe AI in limited release since 15 September, reached 35 percent of paid teams within two weeks. That is nearly double the second-placed model, Sonnet 5.5, and the fastest start Vercel has recorded for a model. The figures come from Vercel's own gateway and likely undercount direct use of the big labs; open models handle over 70 percent of tokens there.

Waymo to test in Toronto, expanding into Canada

High Other

Waymo has been admitted to Ontario's automated vehicle pilot program and starts in Toronto. Streets will first be mapped with manually driven cars, followed by tests with safety operators. There is no public robotaxi service yet; the company is working with Element Fleet Management.
