Music services reacted to the flood of AI-made tracks, while design, biology and chip design each got new AI applications.

YouTube Music to label songs that use generative AI

Certain Products Policy

YouTube Music is introducing labels for music in which generative AI was used, for example in composition or vocals. Partners declare whether a song is fully, partly or not made with AI, and YouTube also deploys its own detection. Unlike some other services it does not restrict AI music: using AI does not by itself rule out monetization.

Deezer is building a filter to hide AI-generated music

Certain Products

Deezer is building a toggle that lets listeners remove AI-generated tracks, albums and related artists from search results. The rollout is planned for the end of 2026. The CEO says about 45 percent of customers wanted such an option, and more than half of daily uploads are now AI-generated.

Figma unveils Specs, a Markdown rulebook for designers and AI agents

Certain Products

At its first Config event in India, Figma showed Specs, a Markdown-based editor for documenting a company's design rules so that teams and AI agents can reference them. Code layers move into open beta and support for more than twenty extra tools arrives through MCP. Figma says India is its largest market outside the United States.

Colossal unveils GenoMorph, an AI platform to find genes for the dodo

High Research Products

Colossal Biosciences unveiled GenoMorph, which combines skull-shape analysis, cross-species genome comparison and developmental biology to find genes worth editing. It matters most for the dodo, for which only one genome is available. The system flagged about 2,300 candidate edit targets, which will now be tested in the lab; it does not edit genes itself.

Ricursive Intelligence bets on AI-designed chips to ease the compute crunch

Medium Chips Research

The founders of Ricursive Intelligence described at a tech conference their AI that designs chips and learns after each attempt. They say demand for compute could grow at least 10,000-fold within five years, so they want to make chips more efficient rather than build far more data centers. They point to earlier results in which AI-made layouts outperformed traditional ones.

Next up: Deezer aims to roll out the AI filter before the end of 2026.
